I Know Real MVPs

I don't care about March Madness or the Final Four. I could even care less about brackets or which University makes sports history.

BUT I do know some real-life MVPs. 

After a certain age, we should all have a solid team. A hearty team (or squad, as the kids say) that's full of ride-or-dies and no-matter-whats. It's people you trust with your kids. It's people you wouldn't mind sharing a meal with. It's people who don't make you feel horrible about the air balls of life. The team assists with each other's layups. And when it's time to shoot your shot, they got you - rooting for you. And after it's all said and done, no one keeps score, which makes life's game that much sweeter. It's a win-win for everyone.

These days my team is made of up MVPs ...real MVPs. Forreal. Forreal.

These MVPs are my closest, dearest friends. The ones who call just to say hi, the ones who have prayed the most honest and endearing prayers for me (and with me), the ones who undoubtedly have my back (and front), the ones who laugh obnoxiously with (and at) me, the ones who call me out on my pettiness, the ones who will take my deepest and darkest secrets to their grave, those who vowed to never leave my life regardless of how insane I, or it,  get, those who are more like family - my squad, my sistas, my boos.

We may sometimes disagree with each other, or have ridiculous arguments that we forget the culprit or may not talk everyday due to life happenings, but I am so humbled - blessed even - by our connection. Words cannot possibly explain how my team has held me down most recently, and continuously. Our bond is tight. Our love is pure. We hold each other DOOOOOOWWWWN!

I'm convinced that friendships are not coincidental, but more so, humbling connections and shared experiences that grow you - that teach you - that love you. Friendships are one of the most impactful elements that'll we'll ever experience throughout life. 

So while everyone is pulling their hair out over their bracket or handing out coins for bets lost, I'm relieved and assured that my team is full of dope MVPs. We stay forever winning.
