Hey there!

Iā€™m sharing my journey as I navigate self reflections, motherhood and the happenings around me.

Gratitude

Gratitude

Today has been about reflection. This time last year, I was in a completely different space, mentally and geographically. What a difference a year makes. I'm totally grateful for progress.

Grateful for new years and new days.

Grateful for a better job with an even better network.

Grateful for my energetic, teenage-like three year old. Because of him I trust in God's purpose for me and believe in love still.

Grateful for a tight village, regardless of miles in between.

Grateful for that trip to Bali, sleeping among the coconut trees and rice fields.

Grateful for the trip to Atlanta and the chance to bond with my cousin Amber.

Grateful for quality time and words of affirmation. I need both.

Grateful for fluid relationships.

Grateful for definite boundaries.

Grateful that I can laugh at my ridiculousness.

Grateful for self-awareness. I own my shit. All of it.

Grateful for my health, despite having to bail out on the the marathon this year.

Grateful for discernment.

Grateful to know it's okay to walk away from anything or anyone who no longer serves me.

Grateful to forgive and move on.

Grateful for prayer. God only knows.

Grateful for everything my childhood was and everything it was not; it has only shaped me into a better parent.

Grateful for the thoughtfulness - that breath of fresh, crisp air.

Grateful for a peace of mind.  Because - sanity.

Grateful for Louie Vega who was in rotation today, only forcing me to have an obnoxious dance party in the kitchen with Harlem laughing.

God knows I am a work in progress. But thank God for the progress.
