New Year: Come Through
We made it another year - on, and with, purpose. Yup, let that sink in. Trust me - if you made it to another year, you're GOOD.
I am undoubtedly looking forward to all things amazing this year! Honestly, I feel completely on fire about what's to come.
I've heard people say that 2016 was exhausting, and just plain brutal. So most would have no problem completely erasing last year out of their mind.
To be quite honest, 2016 was absolutely insane and hella dramatic for me, full of uncertainty, frustration, and anxiety - a year that I probably had a record-number of head shakes and eye rolls. But 2016, was also insane and hella dramatic because it was filled with tons of goodness. I traveled more last year than I have in awhile and it felt amazing - January (Florida), May (NYC), June (Chicago and LA), July (DC), September (Greece), and November (NC). My friends showed up, and out - per usual! In LA, my birthday was spent relaxing and eating great! At work, I held my ground and didn't compromise my own ethics/values. In Greece, I drove a four-wheeler for the first time (and didn't kill anybody). So much fun! Harlem was in good health and started an amazing school. I trained and completed my first race - words can't express how I felt at the finish line. So when I think about it, life wasn't all that bad!
People are so quick to dismiss all of the bad things that happened in 2016, but how about you focus on all of the AMAZING and not-so-bad things that happened - your accomplishments, new adventures, and the things that challenged you to become a better you.
Instead of acting like 2016 never happened - because it did - use those ridiculous and chaotic events of last year to level the hell up and totally kick 2017 in the ass.
So with that, what was your "good news" of 2016? And how are you planning to add to the list this year?
